The car's body structure
The car's exterior consists of metal or plastic panels that cover and protect the internal components and give the car its distinctive shape. These parts play vital roles in safety and aerodynamics.
Engine hood (Hood/Bonnet):
A hinged cover located at the front of the car, its function is to protect the engine, battery, coolant and other internal components, and also allows access to them for maintenance.


Doors: The moving parts that allow passengers to enter and exit the vehicle, and protect them from external elements.


Trunk/Decklid: The main storage compartment usually located at the rear of the vehicle.


Front fender: It is the curved side panel that covers the front wheels and extends between the bumper and the driver/passenger door.


Rear Quarter Panel: Often technically called the "rear quarter panel," this is the part that covers the rear wheels and extends from the rear doors to the trunk and taillights.
